Meet the Flowers
Founder
Mollie
All Mollie has ever wanted to do with her life is help people, that's why she started this nonprofit with Corryn. When Mollie was 17 she joined the US Navy Reserves and was an active part of the military for 5 1/2 years. Mollie was 21 when she started to research Islam due to her ignorance, she had gained a poor view from the military and wanted to research "who we were fighting". But she quickly found she was wrong about Islam and fell in love and took her Shahada at 24 in 2014, but had and off and on relationship with Islam, but has taken things very seriously since June 2022. She thanks Islam for changing her life for the positive.
Founder
Corryn
Corryn found Islam over Ramadan in 2023. While reading the Quran to understand and support a friend better, finding Allah along the way, taking her Shahadah in April. She has a three-legged service dog and a sweet cat at home. She has a love for animals and has always volunteered to work with them. She has always had a creative and artistic side to her and wants to expand that into making art to express her love for Allah. Islam has brought a great light and happiness into her life and she feels as though she gained an entire new family. She is regularly thankful that this has brought her best friend, Mollie, into her life.
President
Sonia
Sonia is 41 years old. She accepted Islam in 2012. She is ethnically Mexican and Native American primarily, but grew up in the suburbs of Arvada, so I have no real cultural identity except being a millennial from the suburbs. She was born and raised in Colorado and so were my parents. She has a 6 year old son named River. One of her biggest strengths is being innovative. She loves to learn how things work and try to make them better. She believes one of her strengths is that she sees herself as a mother to all. She lets it show by being an amazing mother to her son and being such a sweet and caring individual to everyone around her.
CFO
Malik
Malik is 35 years old. He was born in New Jersey, but spent his formative years in South Carolina and Georgia. He first moved to Denver in 2018 and work sent him back to the Carolinas in 2021. However, his love of Colorado was great so he moved back at the start of the new year. He accepted Islam December 2023. The ongoing genocide in Palestine and the steadfast faith displayed by the people of Palestine inspired him to re-examine my relationship with religion and Allah. Currently, he is in grad school to obtain my Masters in Accounting. From there, his goal is to sit for the CPA exam next year and be a licensed CPA by the end of 2025 (inshallah). Throughout his careers, one thing he has learned about himself is that he is drawn to commit acts of service for my community. He has said "I am excited for the opportunity to work with Khadijah’s Flowers and the wonderful women leading the organization. The impact the organization will have on reverts will be great, and I look forward to helping propel Khadijah’s Flowers to the next level."
Secretary
Amber
Amber is 26 years old. She was born in Pakistan, but raised in Northern Virginia. She moved to Colorado August of 2023 for school. She is currently in a masters program for anatomy, but will be starting dental school soon (inshallah). When she took one of those Meyer’s Briggs personality tests and it classified her as an energizer while other tests classified her as a persuader. She is very outgoing and very much people’s person. She works to be interactive with as many people as possible. She is a very hands on person and is always ready to get involved.
